About NFFRE

Established in 1997, the North Florida Foundation for Education and Research, Inc. (NFFRE), is an independent non-profit (501[c][3]) corporation authorized by Congress (U.S Code 7361-7366) to support VA research and education by maximizing funding. NFFRE supports research and education initiatives on behalf of and for the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System (see map).

How is Our Research Funded? 

NFFRE has received or is currently receiving funding from the following sources:

 

  • Government agencies such the Department of Defense and National Institutes of Health (NIH).

  • Industry sponsors such as AstraZeneca, Boston Scientific, Cirius Therapeutics, Kowa Research Institute, Novartis, Phillips Respironics, and Sanofi.​​

  • Private foundations such as the American Heart Association and Craig H. Neilsen Foundation.
