Indirect Costs (IDC)*​

  • Federal grants, including subawards†

    • Standard rate:  25%

    • Depending on grantor agency requirements:  10-35%

  • Industry projects – pharmaceutical or device: 35%

  • Investigator residual funds – nonfederal funding only: 0%

  • Other – negotiable depending on scope of work

    • Education:  10-35%

    • Foundation, society, or other non-profit:  10-35%

Fringe Benefit Rates for Staff

  • Eligible for benefits (0.75–1.0 FTE) at 30-40 hr/wk:  40%

  • Not eligible for benefits (>0.75 FTE) < 30 hr/wk:  18%
